NSM Shipping was established in early 2017 and is now one of the leading Shipping and Logistics Companies in East Africa with offices, in Mombasa, Dar Es Salaam and Mauritius.

We have expertise in all major areas of ships agency services including Liner, Tramp - Bulks (wet & dry), Break Bulk, Tanker, Oil and Gas, Cruise and Navies.

Our aim is to provide the highest quality maritime and logistics solutions to Shipping Lines, Charterers and Traders in the region and globally.

The NSM Team comprises a lean team of 45 staff with a combined experience of over 150 years in the Shipping Industry. We focus our efforts on providing tailor made services to our customers that will not only meet their needs but provide high levels of customer satisfaction.

MARINE AGENCY

We offer full Port agency services on Container, The Bulks, Break Bulk, Pure Car Carriers, Tankers, Project Cargo, CONRO’s, Cruise, Navies, and Specialised vessels eg. Dredgers. We also handle crew change and bunker calls as well as offer competitive fees for arms clearance and storage of weapons. Through detailed pre-berthing meetings with all stakeholders, efficient documentation procedures and close contact with all cargo interests, we always aim to achieve a fast, safe and efficient discharge operation for each vessel that calls under the NSM Agency in Kenya, Tanzania and Mauritius.

PASSENGER
& NAVY

Successful handling of both Navy and Passenger vessel calls require unique experience, knowledge of customer requirements, extreme discipline to deliver and support the ship in the most cost effective way to the principal. NSM has the experience and understands the sensitivities related to tight schedules and cost efficiencies in every aspect of the call. Over the years, NSM has successfully handled Navy calls in East, South and West Africa. This has included frigates and supply vessels from around the world. NSM also owns key equipment which helps to keep costs low for Navy and supply ship calls. This equipment includes 13m ships brows as well as high quality Pneumatic Fenders of varous sizes ranging from 2.2m x 2.5m - upto 3.3m x 6.5m.

LOGISTICS

Our C&F services are handled through our logistics wing - NisoFreight. Nisofreight carries out customs clearance, forwarding, temporary imports, delivery onshore or offshore as well as warehouse and storage services. Project Cargo Management: We offer project cargo management, heavy lift and out of gauge expetiese.

P & I CORRESPONDENTS

Our P and I division led by Wilson Nyangala and David Mackay supported by George Mwalandi and Edrolf Songoni have over 65 years combined experience in both Mombasa and Dar Es Salaam. Over many years we have handled work for all the IG Clubs as well as a number of the fixed premium clubs. We have a combination of experience and contacts within the port and the marine industry in Mombasa and Dar Es Salaam, which enables that we can tackle cases quickly by harnessing all our contacts to reduce exposure and manage costs quickly and efficiently for Clubs. We manage all P and I matters from stowaways, cargo damage, ship damage and loss, marine pollution, casualty claims, sick crew and related issues.

OUR TEAM

David Mackay - Director

• 40 years industry experience with 28 years in East Africa and wider Africa. Experience includes working for owners, operators
and agents in Liverpool, London, Dubai and Kenya working for
Blue Star Line, Kanoo Group, Maersk, Inchape Shipping Services
and NSM.

• 21 years experience with inchcape Shipping Services initially as GM Kenya, then as area GM East and South Africa followed by EVP Africa. During this period set up 8 new offices in 6
countries covering East Africa, West Africa and Mauritius.

• Set up a new Liner and PCC agency under Inchcape for MOL Liner and PCC in September 1999 covering Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. In 2014 set up full back office agency for Emirates Shipping under Inchcape. MOL and Emirates Shipping continue to maintain a strong presence in Kenya thanks to the successful set-up to date.

• Specialised experience of ships agency, Liner marketing and operations, Break Bulk, PCC Operations, P and I correspondence agency work, terminal depots and management.

Patrick Mwamisi General Manager

• Patrick Mwamisi brings over 30 years of experience in the shipping industry, with a strong focus on ship agency services, port operations, and market dynamics across both tramp and liner sectors. As a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, he contributes a high level of professional insight to
‘NSM’ operations.

• His leadership supports the delivery of efficient, reliable agency services across a broad range of all vessel types, while
strengthening relationships with ports, trade partners, and key
stakeholders. Patrick’s experience in statistics, trade analysis, market trend interpretation, and vessel cargo coordination continues to support NSM Ltd’s role within the regional shipping landscape as well as providing huge support to our customers.
